This 1 hour 26-minute webinar is the third webinar in a series of three webinars about Alcohol and Other Drugs in general practice.
Primary healthcare professionals across all disciplines have been invited to attend a series of webinars that focus on the management of alcohol and other drugs in the community.
The final session in this series of three webinars will cover effective strategies for the management of AOD in general practice and highlight referral options and supports for patients accessing care in Tasmania. In this webinar you will hear from multiple GPs with special interests in AOD, a specialist with the Tasmanian Alcohol and Drug Service, and a person with lived experience. If you’re a GP who would like to know more about the pathways available to your patients, this is the webinar for you.
This session will build on the REACH toolkit introduced earlier in this series of webinars, with a particular focus on the referral pathways available in managing and supporting patients with significant alcohol dependence. The overview of this session includes a facilitated conversation with lived experience advocate, Jonathan Wheeler, followed by a GP perspective on management options available in the community with Dr Juliana Ahmad and Dr Sam Maloney, and a specialist perspective with Dr Ian Guinan on navigating inpatient and outpatients options. The session will conclude with an interactive panellist discussion focussing on audience input and the group's collective perspectives and experience in this arena.
