This 58-minute webinar was the first session in the hip and knee osteoarthritis series, which will provide a comprehensive overview into managing hip and knee osteoarthritis in north-west Tasmania.
The sessions will include early intervention and conservative management, the processes for referral for surgery, insights to the surgical process and post-rehabilitation physiotherapy.
Session One:
• Identify referral pathways and triaging for patients with osteoarthritis in the North West Regional Hospital
• Outline the Orthopaedic Early Intervention approach to the management of hip and knee osteoarthritis from initial assessment to referral to orthopaedic surgeon.
• Identify patients who could benefit from conservative management (including GLA:D)
• Describe the surgical approach for hip and knee surgery from technology through to results and outcomes
Session Two: To be held on Wednesday 10 April at 6:30pm
• Define to best practice postoperative management of knee/hip arthroplasty utilising the Orthopaedic Early Intervention approach
• Outline the physiotherapist led 6-week post arthroplasty review clinic in north-west Tasmania
• Identify the role of post-rehabilitation physiotherapy in the Orthopaedic Early Intervention Service pathway
• Describe the surgical approach for hip and knee surgery from technology through to results and outcomes
