The Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA) and the Indigenous Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (IPEPA) aims to enhance the capacity of health professionals to deliver a palliative care approach through their participation in either clinical placements in specialist palliative care services or interactive workshops. The PEPA/IPEPA online modules are designed to prepare for, and maximise your learning during your placement and to promote transfer of learning into the workplace.
The focus is on active comfort care and a positive approach to managing symptoms and reducing distress. This approach facilitates early identification of individuals’ beliefs, needs and choices, and provides guidance for ways you can support them and their families, carers and community.
