Palliative care knowledge and skills online modules.
A suite of free modules designed for GPs, nursing, or allied health professionals, along with students studying at university, delivered by the Palliative Care Education and Training Collaborative.
The Palliative Care Curriculum for Undergraduates (PCC4U) aims to encourage the integration of palliative care training within all health undergraduate (nursing, medical and allied health) and relevant post-graduate curricula, and further improve the skill and confidence of the generalist workforce to work with people with palliative care needs. The PCC4U online modules aim to provide education to health care students and develop capacity in the health care workforce, providing care for people with life-limiting conditions.
This suite of online modules consist of four core modules:
- principles of palliative care
- communicating with people affected by life-limiting illnesses
- assessing and managing symptoms
- optimising function in palliative care.
And four focus topics:
- multidisciplinary Care
- caring for Aboriginal people with life-limiting illnesses
- caring for children with life-limiting illnesses
- culture-centred care of people with life-limiting illnesses.
They are presented as case-based learning modules to support the achievement of the graduate capabilities in palliative care.
