Resource Description

A National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) presentation providing an overview of the criteria for NDIS applications for GPs and primary care professionals.  The range of topics include the criteria for reasonable and necessary support, requesting access to join the NDIS, role of health professionals, and determining eligibility.

Learning Outcomes

  • To build knowledge in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the interface with health.
  • To gain understanding of NDIA-related processes, including decision-making processes, and supports for people with disability.
  • To build understanding of NDIA practice alerts relating to health and the role of primary health care professionals.
  • To build understanding of how GPs can access a patients NDIS plan and connect with health professionals involved in providing NDIS supports (such as allied health).
