This 37-minute webinar, developed by PHN Victorian -Tasmanian Alliance, focuses on infection prevention and control.

In this webinar, you will learn how to explain the principles of infection control and chain of infection, define standard and transmission-based precautions, the importance of protective equipment and hygiene, plus how to handle sharps, spills and staff immunisation.

Learning objectives specifically covered include:

  • apply the principles of infection prevention and control
  • define the role of the practice in protecting the health of staff
  • explain the importance of managing the practice physical environment
  • describe the importance of disease surveillance

This webinar is a resource from the online learning platform developed by the Victorian and Tasmanian PHN Alliance (comprised of the Tasmanian and six Victorian primary health networks) that provides high-quality education and training webinars that are of relevance to general practitioners, practice managers, practice nurses and other practice staff.
