Bowel Cancer Screening
Resource Description

This 1 hour 8-minute webinar will provide an overview for health professionals on the recently updated National Health and Medical Research Council endorsed Clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, early detection, and management of colorectal cancer in the Tasmanian context.

The updated guidelines include a recommendation to lower the screening age for population bowel cancer screening from 50 to 45 -- from 1 July 2024, people aged 45 to 49 can request to join the NBCSP for their first free kit.

The session will covered screening rationale, identification of polyps, sensitivity of tests, potential outcomes, the referral management system and direct access model referrals including waitlists.
