Clinical governance actions
The Primary and Community Healthcare Clinical Governance Standard describes actions for healthcare services to consider.
Not all actions will be applicable and it is not intended that actions be implemented where they are not essential in the delivery of safe and high quality health care for patients.
Healthcare services should consider their individual circumstances in determining whether actions are not applicable.

Governance – whether clinical, corporate or project – can sometimes feel like more ‘red tape’, particularly when your practice is already very busy responding to the needs of your patients.
However, what we know is that good clinical governance allows a practice to better understand processes, giving us something to rely on when things go wrong.
Simply put, good governance is like wearing a seatbelt when driving.
You hope never to have to rely on it, but if you need it, it has you protected.
